grain ipods

I made these grain ipods during the 09 summer intensive at MECA. They are cast resin with embedded livestock grain and bailing twine that I got from local farms. I was thinking about agricultural commoditization (seen in trendy farmers markets) and the struggle farmers face to grow products that will have a high enough financial return to sustain them. There were 20 of these ipods in total, all of them life size.
